If you were among the hundreds of people who enjoyed the last two years’ Power of the Purse plays as we met the Futrelle sisters of Fayro, Texas, you may want to try out for a part in this year’s production. Southern Hospitality is the third comedy in the Futrelle sisters trilogy and the sequel to the last two summers’ productions of Dearly Beloved and Christmas Belles.

The Futrelle Sisters - Frankie, Twink, Honey Raye and Rhonda Lynn - are in trouble again. This time, the problem is bigger than ever: their beloved hometown, Fayro, Texas, is in danger of disappearing and it's up to the sisters to save it from extinction.

Live Art presents the stage version of the popular MGM movie. Set in Oregon in 1850, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers tells the story of Millie, a young bride living in the 1850s Oregon wilderness. Her plan to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her own marriage backfires when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women from a neighboring town to be their brides. Featuring raucous song and dance numbers and bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens back to the glory days of the movie musical.

Ruddigore is a parody of the stock melodrama — the villain who carries off the maiden, the overly virtuous heroine, the hero in disguise and his faithful old valet who dreams of their former glory days, the “friend” who claims to be following his heart, the wild, mad girl, and ghosts coming to life to enforce a curse. But Gilbert and Sullivan turn the moral absolutes of melodrama upside down: Good becomes bad, bad becomes good, and heroes take the easy way out!
